Paula playing Wednesday morning.
Tournament Information
Ready to compete? Our tournaments run for the entire month of July and September, and they're a great way to challenge yourself and celebrate the game with your fellow members!
Eligibility and Requirements
Who Can Play? Any LOLGC member who is established and has a GHIN.
How to Participate:
-
Make your tee times and foursomes just like normal golf
-
Golf at least 3 out of the 4 weeks to qualify for tournament standings
-
Have your scorecard attested by someone in your foursome
-
Count ALL strokes—no stopping at 9 like in regular play!
Submitting Your Scores: You only turn in one scorecard per week. If you play both Wednesday and Thursday, submit your Wednesday scorecard. If you only play Thursday, submit that one.
Handicap Information
We'll get your handicap adjusted for 9 holes from GHIN on the first tournament day of the month, and we'll use this assigned handicap for the entire tournament month.
Our Three Flights:
-
A Flight: Handicaps 7-11 (approximately 17 golfers)
-
B Flight: Handicaps 12-15 (approximately 24 golfers)
-
C Flight: Handicaps 16-21 (approximately 24 golfers)
Each flight has both net and gross winners!
Scorecard Attestation
How It Works: Swap scorecards with someone in your foursome. In this example, Ann Doe writes her name in the top spot of the card and hands it to Betty Smith. Betty writes her name in the bottom section and keeps Ann's scores along with her own. Betty does the same with a different card and gives it to Ann.
After golf is over and totals are entered, Betty has Ann check that they both recorded the same scores. If correct, Ann signs the "Attest" line to confirm she agrees with the score. Betty signs as the scorer. They do the same thing on the other card where Betty is the attester.
Important: Unsigned or unattested score cards will be disqualified!
Where to Turn In Your Scorecard:
-
Wednesday players: Drop your card in the box on the table set up at the course
-
Thursday players: Give your card to the LORAC golf check-in attendant inside, who will put it in the designated LOLGC envelope
Don't forget: Also submit your gross scores to GHIN and to the Scores and Stats on the LOLGC website.
Beth Arnold and Merlene York are the tournament committee members, and they'll try to collect and check your cards before you leave. We hate to disqualify anyone for improper attestation, and they often catch scoring discrepancies too! If they have the chance to review your card while you're still around, it saves everyone headaches later.
Tournament FAQs
I play on Thursday; does that count?
Absolutely! We've requested the pin positions for Wednesday and Thursday remain the same.
I play on both Wednesday and Thursday; do I submit both scorecards?
No. If you play both days, only submit your attested and signed scorecard for Wednesday.
Does the nine-stroke rule apply?
Not during tournament play—count all your strokes!
How many rounds do I need to qualify for winnings?
You need three rounds during the tournament month.
Do I still need to submit to GHIN and LOLGC Score and Stats?
Yes! For every club round you play, please submit your score to both GHIN and LOLGC's Score and Stats.

Scorecard Example
Ann and Betty swap cards. Ann writes her name at the top of one card and gives it to Betty. Betty writes her name at the bottom and records Ann's scores throughout the round. They do the same with a second card, swapping roles.
After the round, they verify the totals together. Ann signs as "Attester" (confirming her scores are correct) and Betty signs as "Scorer" (confirming she recorded them). Then they switch and do the same on Betty's card.
