Paula playing Wednesday morning.
Tournament Information
Requirements
-
You are eligible to play if you are an established LOLGC member and you have a GHIN.
-
Make your tee times and foursomes just like normal golf.
-
The difference for a tournament month is that you need to have your score attested by one of your team. And you count all strokes even if you go beyond our normal stop at 9.
-
To qualify for competing in the tournament, you must golf at least 3 out of the 4 weeks.
-
You only turn in one scorecard per week to count for the tournament. So, if you golf on Wednesday and Thursday, turn in your Wednesday golf. If you only golf Thursday, turn in that one.
Handicap Information
We will get your handicap adjusted for 9 holes from GHIN the first tournament day of the month and we will use this assigned handicap for the month of the tournament.
For the tournament, we typically have 3 flights:
-
A flight includes handicaps of 7 through 11 with 17 golfers.
-
B flight includes handicaps of 12 through 15 with 24 golfers
-
C flight includes handicaps of 16 through 21 with 24 golfers
Scorecards
Here is an example of a correctly filled out and attested scorecard.curs a TWO-STROKE PENALTY.

In this example, Ann Doe writes her name in the top spot of the card and hands the card to Betty Smith. Betty writes her name in the bottom part. She keeps Ann's scores along with her own score. Betty does the same thing with a card and gives it to Ann. After golf is over and the totals are entered, Betty has Ann check to see that they both had the same scoring for Ann. If it is correct, then Ann signs the “Attest” line to say that she agrees with the score. Betty signs as the scorer. Same thing on the other card, where Betty is the attester.
For Wednesday golfers, deposit your cards at the table set up to receive them. There will be a box on the table to drop your scorecard. For Thursday night golfers, please give them to the LORAC golf check-in attendant inside, and they will put your card in a designated LOLGC envelope to save for us.
Also submit your gross scores to GHIN and also on the Scores & Stats location on the LOLGC website.
Beth Arnold and Merlene York are the committee members for the tournaments, and they will try to be there to collect your cards and check them before you leave. We hate to have to disqualify any golfers who did not attest properly. Also, they catch a few discrepancies on score totals. If they have the chance to check them while you are still around, they can talk with you.
